Shounen Onmyouji
Set during Japan's Heian period, the story follows Abe no Masahiro, grandson of the legendary onmyōji Abe no Seimei. Though Seimei passed down his teachings, Masahiro lost the ability to see spirits and sense the supernatural—a gap that's left him frustrated and overshadowed by his grandfather's legacy. Everything changes when Masahiro encounters a fox-like creature he names Mokkun. After they fight a demon together, Mokkun reveals Masahiro's hidden potential. Mokkun is actually Toda, who goes by Guren, one of twelve powerful shikigami known as the Shinshō. Once loyal to Seimei, Guren has now pledged himself to helping Masahiro reach—and surpass—his grandfather's level. But it's not going to be easy. Masahiro needs to prove to the other Shinshō that he's Seimei's true successor, all while growing strong enough to face demons pouring in from China, across Japan, and from the Underworld itself. He's also dealing with rival onmyōji who want to destroy the country. On top of everything else, he's promised to protect Princess Akiko of the Fujiwara clan—a debt he can't ignore.
