In this world, certain people called "Minimum Holders" possess the ability to perform specific supernatural feats. A government-run academy trains these gifted individuals to hone their powers and put them to use for the country. Nice was once a promising student there, but he dropped out and started his own detective agency with his assistant Hajime, taking on cases that frequently involve other Minimum Holders. When the academy's top student, Murasaki, gets assigned to recruit Nice back, he's reluctant to accept that Nice actually has more potential than he does. But instead of dragging him back, Murasaki ends up getting drawn into Nice's detective work.
