The world's been frozen solid in an ice age, and humanity's only chance at survival lies in cryogenic sleep inside massive facilities called "The Snow Princess." A small community of robots took on the responsibility of keeping watch over the sleeping humans, maintaining their underground village for generations. Amaryllis is a young robot and the village's vice-chief. She spends her days working alongside her fellow robots to repair The Snow Princess, which has been steadily falling apart from damage and age. It's demanding work, but Amaryllis believes it's all worth it—fixing those facilities means giving humans a future they can wake up to. Then one day, the village chief drops a bombshell: he thinks humanity should be allowed to die out.
