Twenty years ago, humanity made a pact with God through the Oracle Agreement, banning all weapons. Then giant monsters called kaiju started showing up, leaving everyone defenseless. Kento Noroma's a high school delinquent with serious fighting chops, though he mostly uses them for the wrong reasons. That changes when he meets Nodoka Hayami, a girl who pilots one of the fukujin—beasts that can be controlled by humans. Inspired by her, Kento decides he wants to become a fukujin pilot too and finally put his talent to good use fighting off the kaiju.
