Shinpei moved to Tokyo after his parents died, leaving his childhood friends Mio and Ushio Kofune behind. He comes back home when Ushio drowns trying to rescue a girl named Shiori—but something doesn't add up. The bruises around Ushio's neck suggest she didn't just drown by accident. Convinced there's more to the story, Shinpei starts digging deeper. Strange things are happening on the island, and in a vision, Ushio's ghost tells him to save Mio. Whatever's going on, her death is just the beginning. With help from Mio and others, Shinpei tries to figure out a way to keep everyone alive. But the more he uncovers, the worse things get. The island is being consumed by something dark, and he has to decide how far he's willing to go to stop it.
