Synopsis

After his wife died, widower and high school teacher Kouhei Inuzuka struggled to cook for his five-year-old daughter Tsumugi. One disaster in the kitchen was enough—they basically lived on convenience store food after that. Then one day while they're out watching flowers, they bump into Kotori Iida, a socially awkward student of Kouhei's. When Kotori sees Tsumugi eyeing her lunch, she invites them both to eat at her mother's restaurant. Desperate to give Tsumugi a proper meal, Kouhei shows up at the restaurant late one night and finds Kotori already there waiting. Neither of them can really cook, but they manage to throw together something simple anyway. Turns out Kotori's mom works constantly, so Kotori's been eating alone most nights. Moved by that, Kouhei makes a promise—the three of them will eat dinner together from now on. That simple promise kicks off a whole series of heartwarming moments built around sharing meals.
