Synopsis

Hotaru Tachibana is the student council president at her high school—and most people assume she's a guy, thanks to her rough way of talking and how she dresses. So when she hears that a host scammed her friend, she doesn't hesitate to track him down and confront him. Turns out he's her next-door neighbor, Masamune Matsuoka, and instead of just apologizing, he challenges her to a "survival game"—basically paintball warfare, but taken seriously. Hotaru loses badly and ends up responsible for damages she can't afford to pay. The only way out? Joining Masamune's all-male survival game team, "Toy ☆ Gun Gun," as their third member. The other guy on the team is Tooru Yukimura, a manga artist who's pretty annoyed to have her around at first. But Hotaru gets sucked into the sport faster than she expected. She starts genuinely caring about her teammates and their goal: winning Top Combat Game, Japan's biggest survival game tournament. The catch is she has to keep pretending to be a guy the whole time.
