Synopsis

Set in 2020, three years after .hack//G.U., this story splits time between the real world and The World R:X, a revamped version of the popular MMORPG. The protagonist is Tokio Kuryuu, a middle school student living an ordinary gamer's life—until Ayaka Amagi, a mysterious transfer student, enters his school and draws him into the game world.
