Synopsis

The human body contains roughly thirty-seven billion cells, all working around the clock. Red blood cell AE3803 is new to the job—clumsy, cheerful, and enthusiastic about delivering oxygen and picking up carbon dioxide, even if she's terrible with directions. White blood cell U-1146, on the other hand, is a combat veteran who doesn't hesitate to hunt down and destroy any pathogen he encounters. Despite their completely different personalities, the two keep running into each other and quickly become friends. Hataraku Saibou follows these two cells and their coworkers as they go about their daily jobs keeping the body functioning. It's the kind of show that manages to be both genuinely entertaining and surprisingly educational.
