Synopsis

Before he became the dreaded "Reaper" of the Commission of Counter Ghoul, a teenage Kishou Arima was just another investigator. He got sent undercover to high school to look into a string of murders—all the work of a ghoul with a serious appetite problem. The mission was supposed to be a solo job, but that changed fast once he crossed paths with Taishi Fura, a delinquent in his class. Things got real when Fura watched his best friend get brutally killed by a masked ghoul called "Lantern." He was next on the menu, basically, until Arima showed up and saved his life. That one moment was enough for Fura to catch a glimpse of what ghoul investigators actually do. Even though Lantern got away, Fura decided right then and there to team up with Arima and hunt the killer down.
