Seiichi Hiiragi is relentlessly bullied at school—kids constantly insult his appearance, calling him ugly, fat, disgusting, you name it. Then one day, a voice claiming to be a god announces over the PA system that the entire school is about to be transported to another world. This new world runs on game mechanics: levels, stats, skills, the whole deal. The catch? The god isn't quite ready yet and needs time to prepare the summoning ritual. While the rest of the school groups up and waits, Seiichi gets left behind and ends up transported to a completely different area alone. The first thing he does there is eat something called the "Fruit of Evolution"—which turns out to be life-changing. The story follows Seiichi as he adapts to this fantasy world despite still being treated like garbage by his former classmates and having his accomplishments constantly overlooked. But somehow, through it all, he stays positive and manages to survive. Eventually, he becomes one of the world's strongest champions. Also, fair warning: the first major heroine is a gorilla.
