Synopsis

Seventeen years ago, immortal soldiers called divine warriors started showing up on African battlefields. Humanity eventually discovered these beings—dubbed Ajin or demi-humans—and it became one of the biggest scientific breakthroughs ever. The government claimed they'd integrate Ajin into society just fine. That said, there are persistent rumors they're actually running secret bounty programs to capture Ajin for experimentation. Kei Nagai is a detached high school student who wants nothing more than to become a doctor and live quietly. That plan falls apart when he gets hit by a car. He walks away fine—which immediately outs him as Ajin in front of witnesses who see easy money. Now he's stuck running for his life, unable to explain what he is or prove he's innocent. Things get worse when he's tracked down by a group of radical Ajin who want him to join their fight against the government. As everything spirals, Kei has to figure out who he can actually trust and where his loyalty lies—with humanity or with his own kind.
