After a decade of training, two shape-shifting dog ninjas finally get their shot at the real world. Their mission: protect a guy named Mitsuyoshi who has no idea what they actually are. He just thinks he found a couple of stray dogs and names them Hanzou and Hadzuki. Here's where it gets complicated. Hadzuki had already met Mitsuyoshi before any of this—back when she was in human form and saved him from some demons. Now she's juggling two completely separate relationships with the same person: one as his loyal dog, another as the mysterious woman who rescued him. And as if keeping that secret isn't hard enough, she's starting to develop feelings for him. Add in constant demon attacks trying to mess with their cover, and things get messy fast.
