Spellblades exist in the magical world—rare, devastating techniques that kill without mercy or reversal. Nobody knows much about them or the mages who wield them, only that they're absolutely lethal. Every spring, the prestigious Kimberly magic academy opens its doors to a new class. The arrival ceremony is a big deal: magical creatures parading around, awestruck freshmen everywhere. Among the newcomers is Oliver Horn, a guy who seemed pretty detached until he spotted something that caught his attention—a girl dressed oddly, carrying a Japanese sword.
