Yuuichi Katagiri's spent his whole life scraping by financially, but he's managed to stay upbeat thanks to his solid friend group. When they plan a school trip, he saves up to finally join them—only to have the money disappear. Suspicion immediately lands on Shiho Sawaragi and Makoto Shibe, who were handling the collection. Even though they didn't actually steal it, both take the fall since nobody else steps up. Days later, Yuuichi and his friends get mysterious letters that lure them out separately. They wake up in some kind of facility facing "Manabu-kun," a creepy mascot character from a kids' show that got pulled off the air for being genuinely disturbing. Turns out one of them set this whole thing up to cover a massive debt. The group's forced into a series of games—supposedly to test how strong their friendship really is—but as secrets start piling up and people betray each other left and right, the trust just falls apart. Yuuichi has to figure out who he can actually rely on and expose whoever orchestrated the whole thing.
