Synopsis

Yui is half-Shinma, half-human—specifically, she's got the blood of both the Shi clan and Vampire Miyu running through her veins. Her Shi side gives her an inherent connection to a magical lake that exists on another plane. The lake's guardian, Yuki, is actually a distant relative of Yui's through the Shi bloodline. Over a century ago, Yuki chose to sleep eternally with a mortal man she loved instead of staying awake to maintain control over the lake's magic. The rest of the Shi clan is desperate to use the lake's power for themselves, and they're terrified that Yui—being naturally drawn to it—might accidentally wake Yuki up and lose them their shot at controlling it.
