Synopsis

Shizuku Kanzaki grew up as the only son of Yutaka Kanzaki, a legendary wine critic who put him through an intense, unusual education centered entirely on wine. His father made him learn everything from proper decanting to memorizing obscure scents like leather belts and pencils—all supposedly essential skills. The training backfired spectacularly. Shizuku came to resent wine and everything connected to it, so he ditched the whole world to work as a regular sales rep for a beer company and swore he'd never touch wine again. Then his father dies suddenly, and Shizuku gets pulled right back in. According to Yutaka's will, whoever inherits his massive wine collection and estate has to identify the "12 Apostles"—a group of legendary wines—and the "Drops of God," an even more elusive wine. Shizuku has one year to do it. The catch seems ridiculous since he's the only surviving relative, so he should be getting the inheritance anyway, right? Turns out his father had another secret. About a week before he died, Yutaka adopted Issei Tomine into the family. Issei is a famous, veteran wine critic known as "The Prince of Wine"—and he's now competing against Shizuku for the same prize. With zero formal training in wine tasting, Shizuku's completely outmatched. He's got one year to identify the "Drops of God" before Issei beats him to it and takes everything.
