Synopsis

Mikado Ryuugamine has always been obsessed with the abnormal and supernatural, but his boring countryside life never gave him a chance to experience it. After his childhood friend pushes him to take the leap, Mikado moves to Ikebukuro, Tokyo's bustling downtown district—expecting the adventure he's always wanted. What he finds is way more complicated than he imagined. Ikebukuro is packed with seriously weird people. There's a massive guy who dresses like a bartender, an information dealer who gets off on causing trouble, and a shady underground doctor with creepy obsessions. But nothing compares to the "Black Rider"—a literal urban legend, a headless figure who tears through the streets on a jet-black motorcycle in the dead of night. The night Mikado arrives, he actually sees the Black Rider. His excitement kicks off a chain reaction that spirals into something dangerous, pulling in a bunch of other people caught up in Ikebukuro's chaos.
