There's an urban legend about the Urashima Tunnel—supposedly it'll grant you whatever you wish for, but it costs you your life in return. Kaoru Touno never gave it much thought until he actually found the damn thing. He wasn't planning to go in at first, but the temptation gets to him. His sister Karen died five years ago in an accident that was basically his fault, and the tunnel offers a chance to bring her back. So he enters. What he finds inside doesn't match up with what the rumors say, and the tunnel's actual rules are pretty murky. But that doesn't stop him from poking around to figure it out. What Kaoru doesn't realize is that Anzu Hanashiro—this quiet girl from his class—has been following him. She gets hooked on the mystery and wants in on his experiments. He's not sure he can trust her, but he agrees to let her tag along anyway. They spend the summer together hunting for a way to bring Karen back.
