Attacker You!
Attacker You! follows 13-year-old You Hazuki, an ambitious and energetic girl who moves from Osaka to Tokyo to live with her father Toshihiko, a cameraman just back from Peru. You's mother left when she was young, so it's just the two of them—plus You's clingy younger brother Sunny, who tags along everywhere. You becomes curious about Kyushi Tajima, a blonde volleyball commentator she sees on TV, and notices her father gets weirdly angry whenever she mentions her. You is obsessed with volleyball and has her sights set on making Japan's national team for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. She joins her school's volleyball club and quickly becomes a star player, though her coach (who doubles as her homeroom teacher) runs a brutal program and isn't shy about slapping players who underperform. She strikes up a rocky friendship with Nami Hayase, the school's former volleyball champion and her former rival—a relationship that gets tested when the two end up on opposing professional teams. On top of all that, You develops a crush on So Takiki, the captain of the boys' volleyball team, and throws just as much energy into winning him over as she does into her game.
