Illya wakes up in a parallel world—and things are immediately bad. She can't transform, Miyu and Rin are nowhere to be found, and Fuyuki City is a frozen wasteland with a massive crater torn through its center. No people. No signs of life anywhere. She makes her way home hoping for answers, but the Einzbern mansion is just ruins like everything else. Before she can process what's happened, some girl in a gym uniform tackles her. Her name's Tanaka, she has no memories of anything, and despite being totally out of it, she's weirdly cheerful about the whole situation. The two of them end up taking shelter in a playground to escape the snow. That's when things go from bad to worse. An Ainsworth agent finds them and attacks, but bails as soon as the fight starts. It's clear this is just the beginning—something bigger is going on in this broken version of the city.
