Synopsis

During Japan's Edo period, a mysterious illness known as the Redface Pox emerged and devastated the male population. Within eighty years, men had become so scarce that only one remained for every four women. With men nearly extinct, women stepped into every role previously reserved for them—including the position of Shogun itself. The surviving men became incredibly valuable, carefully guarded by society. The most attractive among them were selected to serve in the Shogun's Inner Chambers.
