Tetsujin 28-gou
Dr. Kaneda was working on giant robot soldiers for Japan during World War II, but Allied bombing destroyed his lab and killed him before the project could be weaponized. Years later, criminals dug up two of the surviving prototypes—robots #26 and 27—and started using them for crimes. When twelve-year-old Shotaro Kaneda (the doctor's son) began investigating, he uncovered what the mob was really after: robot #28, supposedly the strongest one ever built. Shotaro beat them to it and found the robot along with Dr. Shikishima, his father's old partner who'd also supposedly died in that bombing. Together they managed to keep Tetsujin 28-go out of criminal hands and decided to use the robot for good instead of war.
