Synopsis

Mizuki Konno is your typical high school junior—studying hard for college entrance exams and killing time with fashion and makeup when she can. She's not popular enough to be part of the elite crowd at Yanno Prefectural High School, but she's popular enough, which is pretty lucky. Not everyone in her year gets to sit on that side of the social divide. She's not a bad person, exactly. She just knows she's one of the haves. Even if she's barely holding on by a thread, that's still leagues ahead of the introverts and socially awkward kids in her class. During a school field trip, Mizuki's social position is at an all-time high. Then everything goes wrong. A huge chunk of her class turns against her—not that they were ever united to begin with, but suddenly their hatred for her matters more than whatever's keeping them divided. Then tragedy strikes: a traffic accident wipes out almost the entire class in a single moment. Five girls survive, injured and stranded in the wilderness. They hate each other. And trapped together with nowhere to run, they start carving out a completely new social hierarchy—one where looks and style don't mean anything anymore. It's Lord of the Flies meets Heathers, except this time the hierarchy has to be built from scratch in the middle of nowhere.
