Persia is an 11-year-old girl who's grown up among the animals on Africa's Serengeti plains. When twins Riki and Gaku Muroi and their grandfather Gouken bring her to Japan to live with a couple who run a grocery store—Persia's new "Mama" and "Papa"—her life takes a magical turn. During the flight, she encounters the Fairy Queen in a dream realm called the Lovely Dream, who reveals the place is frozen over and needs saving. The Fairy Queen gives Persia a magical headband that transforms her into a teenage girl and grants her magical powers. She's sent back to the real world with three kappa companions and a crucial task: collect love energy to unfreeze the Lovely Dream. There's a catch, though. If she fails to gather enough energy or gets caught using magic in front of anyone, Riki and Gaku will be turned into women.
