Kendo champion Suguri Toma is athletic but not exactly the brightest guy around. When a girl named Itsuki Aizawa suddenly asks him to help her hide, he's instantly hooked. He decides to protect her and get her to a crucial ballet audition. But then a blonde guy named Karma shows up and whisks her away. Desperate to be with Itsuki, Toma somehow wills himself to another dimension called Tao. Turns out the universe is full of life, but resources are way too limited to support everyone. So representatives from different worlds created a tournament to decide which civilizations actually get to survive. Karma—the blond, built guy who took Itsuki—is the leader of Earth's gladiator team. And Toma's accidentally ended up on the roster too. Now it's time for an intergalactic fight-to-the-death competition where the stakes are literally planetary survival.
