Synopsis

Sakamichi Onoda's been cycling 45 kilometers to and from Akihabara every week since fourth grade—not because he's athletic, but because it's his only way to get around. He's a total otaku, and starting high school, he's hoping to finally find some friends who share his interests. His plan? Join the anime club. Except it got shut down right before he could sign up. That's when he meets Shunsuke Imaizumi, a first-year who's basically his complete opposite—tall, naturally gifted at sports, and apparently a cycling prodigy. But after watching Onoda tackle the school's brutal rear slope on his beat-up commuter bike, Imaizumi gets curious about his technique and challenges him to a race. It's a random encounter that ends up changing everything for Onoda, pulling him into the world of competitive cycling whether he expected it or not.
