Sakurai's never been the type to work hard or care much about anything, so joining a school sports team was basically never going to happen. That changes when he accidentally walks in on his classmate Toyoguchi changing in the locker room. To keep his mouth shut, he gets blackmailed into becoming manager of the girls' lacrosse team—which Toyoguchi founded and is totally obsessed with. At first Sakurai's just going through the motions, but Toyoguchi's passion starts rubbing off on him. He actually gets interested in the sport, does some real research, and before long he's not just a lazy kid anymore. He starts taking things seriously and putting in actual effort, moving past his fear of failure in the process.
