Volume 1: Fuyu no Monogatari (Winter's Tale) It's late 19th century England. Grace King was the daughter of a fallen Marquis and mistress to Count Arthur Roland. When she dies under mysterious circumstances, her two sons Linus and Lawrence end up in the care of their father, Earl Roland—who's already dealing with a sickly wife, Anna, and his other children. Linus becomes convinced the Roland family had something to do with his mother's death, and he quietly starts digging into what really happened. Volume 2+: Haru no Sanka (Spring's Paean) The Roland family hires Rachel Brennan as a governess for their kids. She gradually wins over most of the children, but there's one holdout: the second son, William. The question is whether Rachel can break through his walls and get him to open up to her too.
