Tsukushi Tsukamoto is a timid, clumsy kid who gets bullied constantly. One day a fellow student named Jin Kazama—a talented young soccer player—saves him from his tormentors and invites him to play in a futsal match. Tsukamoto's out of his depth skill-wise, but he makes up for it with heart and relentless effort. Even with an injured foot, he keeps pushing forward, and his determination actually inspires the lazy Kazama. When Tsukamoto scores the winning goal, something clicks. He loves this. He loves playing with Kazama. That's all it takes. Tsukamoto decides to join the school's soccer club alongside Kazama. Problem is, Seiseki High is basically a soccer powerhouse, and Tsukamoto is legitimately terrible. Getting past tryouts seems impossible, let alone making the first team. But he's got one thing going for him: he can run straight ahead with absolute conviction. And somehow, that's enough.
