Tiger-like monsters called beom blend seamlessly into human society, where they hunt and devour people, spreading chaos through the corrupt city of Sin-si. Four thousand years ago they were sealed away at Beom Rock on Inwang Mountain, but every January 16, they break free and massacre countless victims. When the gate between their world and ours opens, the beom are determined to finish a war that's been raging since ancient times and wipe out humanity. Zeha is an orphaned kid consumed by anger and resentment toward parents who abandoned him—something his caretakers refuse to talk about. When a mysterious stranger dandles the truth in front of him, Zeha takes the bait and ends up trapped on Inwang Mountain, duped into breaking the seal himself and releasing the beom. The disaster snaps his memories back into place, and facing what he's done, he makes a vow to hunt down and destroy every last one of these creatures. Fate throws Zeha together with six other young men—Haru, Dogeon, Hwan, Hosu, Jooan, and Cein—who band together as a team called Chakho. Despite their wildly different personalities, they're united by a single goal: to track down and eliminate the beom once and for all.
