Synopsis

Set in 1963 Yokohama—just a year before Tokyo's Olympics—this manga follows Komatsuzaki, an ordinary high school girl with pigtails, as she navigates her teenage years. Her sailor father disappeared after an accident, and her photographer mom is constantly traveling for work, so Komatsuzaki's really figuring things out on her own. The story captures her everyday life with all its ups and downs: hanging out with the school newspaper club, the student council president, and other friends. It's basically a slice-of-life look at growing up during that specific moment in time. Volume 2 also includes two one-shots: "Rudy no Tanjoubi" and "Bakubaku Kaban to Ai-chan."
