A year after Earth and the colonies made peace, the Gundam pilots thought they were done fighting. Heero, Duo, Trowa, and Quatre said goodbye to their mobile suits and sent them into the sun. Meanwhile, Relena Darlian took on a position as deputy minister in the newly unified Earth government. But the peace doesn't last. Relena gets kidnapped, and a new military faction emerges under the leadership of Marimeia Khushrenada—the daughter of the dead dictator Treize. She's got the backing of the Barton Foundation and its resources. Things get worse when Wufei, who piloted Gundam Nataku, decides to join her side. With Marimeia threatening global domination, the Gundam pilots have no choice. They pull their mobile suits back and return to combat to stop her.
