Synopsis

Fourteen-year-old Kotobuki spots a cute guy through the window of a trendy fashion boutique while shopping with friends. The guy, Hodaka, owns the store and designs everything there himself. She becomes totally smitten and starts hanging out at the cafe across the street just to watch him work. One day Hodaka and two friends show up at that same cafe and ask to join her table since there's nowhere else to sit. Kotobuki panics and lies about her age, claiming she's 20 and in college. Since Hodaka's 26, she figures there's no way he'd be interested in a 14-year-old. When his friends start joking around and ask which of the guys she'd want as a boyfriend, she immediately says Hodaka. They all laugh and jokingly declare her his girlfriend—and she's absolutely over the moon about it. From then on, Kotobuki's constantly at the shop and even picks up work there, keeping up the pretense that she's older. But eventually the truth comes out. The discovery tanks whatever they had going, and things get really awkward between them. With such a huge age gap and Kotobuki still being a student, it seems impossible. Can Hodaka actually see a future with someone so young, or was this always going to end badly?
