Synopsis

Subaru Natsuki steps out of a convenience store into a fantasy town bustling with humans and demi-humans. Dragons and carriages serve as the main transport—definitely not modern Japan. As someone who lives for anime and video games, Subaru figures he's stumbled into his own protagonist story, ready to wield incredible magical powers. Reality hits fast. He runs into trouble with some thugs, but gets saved by Satella, a silver-haired woman searching for her stolen insignia. Grateful, Subaru offers to help track it down. Their search takes them to a pawn shop, where Subaru assumes the insignia was sold off. He goes in to negotiate with the owner, but instead of getting what they came for, they're ambushed by an assassin. Both he and Satella are killed. Except Subaru doesn't end up dead. He wakes up at the start of the day, back where he began, as if nothing happened. His strange new life in this world is about to start all over again.
