Synopsis

Detective Yokoda gets killed by criminals, but Professor Tani manages to recover his body and brings it to his lab. Tani's been trying to transfer a human consciousness into an android for years—seven failed attempts so far. Yokoda becomes the eighth test subject, and this time it actually works. He's reborn as 8 Man, an android with a metal body, superhuman speed, and the ability to shapeshift into other people. He takes on a new human identity as "Hachiro Azuma" to blend back into his old life. Only Tani and his police chief boss know the truth; his girlfriend Sachiko and friend Ichiro have no idea he's now a machine. As 8 Man, Hachiro uses his new abilities to fight crime and track down the criminals who originally killed him.
