Kinnikuman
Kinnikuman (real name Kinniku Suguru) is basically the worst superhero ever—a bumbling coward with a serious gyuudon addiction who happens to be a prince from an alien planet. Don't let that fool you though. Underneath all that pathetic exterior is a genuinely honorable guy who can actually become terrifyingly strong when it matters. With his manager Meat-kun and fellow Choujin allies like Terryman and Ramenman backing him up, he's determined to become the greatest Choujin around. His secret weapon? Ridiculous amounts of heart, stamina, and belief in the power of friendship. Somehow, Kinnikuman keeps pulling off victories against enemies way stronger than him, and he's got this weird ability to make his opponents rethink their entire lives and team up with him instead. It's a slow process, but this complete idiot actually does grow into someone worthy of being called a hero. The original series had a massive 22-year gap between volumes 36 and 37. The story picked back up in 2011 with volume 38 onwards as a restart.
