Synopsis

Kazuma Satou is pretty much a loser—a shut-in gamer with nothing going for him. One day he dies trying to save a girl from a truck, except it wasn't actually a truck, just a slow tractor, and he died from the shock anyway. Next thing he knows, he's in some in-between place talking to Aqua, a goddess with an attitude problem. She gives him two choices: go to heaven or get sent to a fantasy world to help defeat the Demon King. He's not thrilled about either option until Aqua mentions he can bring one thing with him. Obviously, he picks her. Bad decision. Once they're actually in the fantasy world, it becomes clear that Aqua is completely useless, and everything is way harder than Kazuma expected. They're broke, they need to find a place to stay, learn actual combat skills—the whole deal. And things only get messier when they start picking up more party members, each one weirder than the last.
