Kuroha to Nijisuke
Kuroha Yoitsuji has spent her whole life hearing she's incredibly lucky—except her luck seems to come at everyone else's expense. Orphaned young, she ended up in the care of a yakuza boss who runs the Hibauchi group and has been using her as his personal weapon ever since. Desperate to escape and stop hurting the people around her, she jumps out a window one day. A guy named Nijisuke Murokawa catches her mid-fall. Nijisuke's had more accidents thrown at him than anyone should reasonably survive, but he doesn't buy into the whole luck thing at all. He insists everything's just coincidence and chalks his survival up to being mentally and physically tough—which honestly impresses Kuroha. When she decides to leave the city with Nijisuke's help (along with his cryptic friend Hokuto), she starts questioning whether Nijisuke's actually that strong or if she's just been weak the whole time. The real question becomes: can she take control of her own life and stop being someone else's tool?
