Synopsis

There's a creepy urban legend making the rounds at Akanegasaki Middle School. Supposedly, if you're walking alone at night, you'll hear a bell ring. Then a woman in a long coat—the Ripper—materializes out of nowhere, asks your name, and stabs you to death. Haruka Kanade, Arisa Narumi, Chisato Shion, and Matsuri Hinata have all heard the rumors. But they know better than to dismiss them as pure fiction. The murders are real, just happening in a neighboring city. And unlike most people, these four girls actually have the power to do something about it. Each of them made a contract with Kyuubey, a cat-like creature, to become magical girls. One night while on patrol, they finally encounter the Ripper. The confrontation shakes them to their core—because the killer is a magical girl too.
