Ijuuin Akira is a nine-year-old student at Clamp School who leads a double life. By day he's just a normal kid, but at night he transforms into the mysterious thief known as the Man of 20 Faces—stealing beautiful and valuable objects to satisfy his two mothers. He's good at what he does and has built quite the reputation. One night while hiding from the police, Akira stumbles into the room of five-year-old Ookawa Utako. Despite their four-year age gap, the two quickly develop feelings for each other. But their budding romance faces serious complications as Akira gets pulled deeper into the world of theft, some of which directly target Utako's own family. Between his obligations to his mothers and the growing tension with Utako, Akira finds himself caught between two worlds with no easy way out.
