A burned-out office worker in modern Japan spent her days grinding through a soul-crushing desk job, finding escape only in web novels. One story in particular grabbed her—a tale where the Baroness Misano crushes the noblewoman Ronia Gavisera and steals her fiancé Schneider. When she finished reading, her only thought was how much better things could've ended peacefully. Then she died. She woke up as Ronia herself in her next life. Determined to stay out of the whole mess with Misano, she resolved to keep her head down and avoid conflict. Except the story's already written, and no matter what she does—or doesn't do—Ronia gets expelled from school, disowned by her family, and dumped by her fiancé. Except that's not a tragedy. That's freedom. With her past finally off her back, Ronia opens a small café and settles into a quiet life, just her and a good cup of coffee.
