Synopsis

Takao Taniguchi broke his finger playing baseball in junior high, which put an end to his dreams of continuing the sport. When he got to Sumitani High School, he couldn't stay away—he'd hang around watching the baseball club constantly, even though he couldn't actually play. That all changed when the soccer club captain noticed him and convinced him to join up instead. Despite having zero soccer experience, Takao's work ethic from his baseball days impressed his teammates, and they quickly realized he had real potential. But he never quite let go of baseball. While throwing himself into soccer, he started secretly umpiring baseball games on the side, unable to shake that passion from his youth.
