Arianrhod is a girl from the island of Erin who's always been an outsider. While everyone else in her tribe has blond hair, she's the only one with black hair—and she's paid for it with constant bullying. Everything changes when a silver-clad traveler arrives and "names" her, a ritual that supposedly reveals a person's true nature. This naming catches the attention of Master Drisu, who decides to take her on as his disciple. Later, Balor—a ruthless tyrant who rules Death Valley—slaughters her entire tribe in a single night. Arianrhod survives, and she's out for revenge.
