In a magical world, Asta is an orphan with a problem: he has no magical ability whatsoever. He's loud, obnoxious, and basically the opposite of what you'd expect from someone aiming to become the Wizard King—the strongest mage in the entire Clover Kingdom. His childhood friend Yuno has the same goal, except he's actually talented and can wield powerful wind magic. The gap between them seems impossible, but Asta refuses to accept it. He trains his body obsessively every day, hoping that somehow, some way, he'll catch up. At age 15, everyone in the kingdom receives a Grimoire—a magical tome that unlocks their full potential. When the ceremony happens, Yuno gets one with a rare four-leaf clover, basically confirming he's destined for greatness. Asta gets nothing. Crushed but stubborn, he doesn't give up. Then he spots a mage attacking Yuno to steal that special Grimoire. Despite being completely outmatched, Asta fights anyway—and his sheer refusal to quit awakens something unexpected.
