Teppei Takamiya leaves his quiet life on Kamui Island and heads to China to find his brother Koutarou, who disappeared five years ago after leaving Germany to study robotics. When Koutarou's unveiling of his latest robotic creation gets interrupted by a wasp-shaped mecha piloted by the Machine Empire, everything goes downhill fast. Teppei chases after the machine using a gauntlet called the Messiah Fist, following it all the way to the Empire's hidden base deep in the Gobi Desert. After getting dumped in a trash heap, Teppei runs into a cyborg that weirdly feels familiar. The encounter awakens his blood and triggers something massive—a legendary B't in the shape of a kirin called X. This thing was supposedly the strongest B't around five years back. X and Teppei are both hardheaded and completely different from each other, but after some initial friction, X agrees to team up and help him rescue his brother.
