In the future, heavy robots called "labors" handle all kinds of jobs—construction, firefighting, military work, you name it. The problem is that humans operate them, and humans commit crimes. A labor in the wrong hands becomes a serious weapon, so the police fight back the only way that makes sense: with their own advanced patrol robots, called "patlabors." This series follows the Second Special Vehicles Division, a ragtag unit of patlabor cops trying to do their job and keep their lives together while dealing with whatever comes their way.
