It's the age of exploration, right after the discovery of the New World. Diego is a young researcher from the maritime nation of Spinea who practices Onmyojutsu—magic that's actually banned there. This makes him a target: a mysterious woman attacks him for it, and the Holy Church starts hunting him too. With nowhere else to go, he joins his childhood friend Alvaro on an expedition ship heading to the New World. When they arrive, the landscape is dominated by a massive Tree of Gold surrounded by ancient colossi that guard the forests.
