Synopsis

Mary Saotome starts her first year at Hyakkaou Private Academy with everything figured out—she's got the connections, the money, the whole elite future mapped out. Then she runs into an old classmate who's now basically a servant to another student, and suddenly Mary gets pulled into the academy's underground gambling scene. Now she's got to figure out if she can actually hold her own against these insane gamblers. Can she use her brain and a little luck to make real friends and stay out of crippling debt? This is the prequel that explains how Mary ended up in the crazy world of Kakegurui.
