A lonely demon lord and a self-absorbed hero—except what about the poor extra caught between them? At this school, students are trained for their roles in fantasy stories. Problem is, only a handful actually get "hero" or "wizard" traits. Most of us are destined to be nothing more than background characters—villagers. I'm Satou, and yeah, I'm one of those nobodies. Then one day, a girl named Ryuugamine Ouko, who has the "demon lord" trait, decides to fixate on me. She's short and surprisingly levelheaded, which would be great except she keeps casually talking about humanity's destruction. Seriously, give me a break. Standing firmly against all this is my childhood friend, Hikarigaoka Tsubasa—and honestly, she's the bigger problem. She's gorgeous, but the second she commits to something, she becomes an absolute nightmare to deal with. This is a story about a weird world filled with weird people all tangled up in ridiculous situations. It's basically a slapstick comedy.
